Instead, we’re often bombarded with lyrics full of vulgarity and misogyny, or with mumble and SoundCloud rappers who seem to put little effort into crafting their lyrics. For those of us who grew up with old school hip hop, this shift can feel jarring and disappointing. However, it’s clear that in today’s rap industry, lyrics  are no longer the focus – it’s all about producing as much content as possible, regardless of quality. With so many amateur artists flooding the market, it can be tough to separate the wheat from the chaff and find truly great rap music. DaeMoney has spent the majority of his life around rappers, learning the craft from his uncle Babyface Ray at a young age and even recording a pre-written verse on a Team Eastside track when he was just six.
For me, the drums have to come in within the melody, ’cause that’s how we determine what the bounce is. The melody could be a straightforward melody, but once the melody is there the drums can come in and change the whole feel of how it sounded without the drums. Hip hop finally received critical praise during this time, as well. Public Enemy’s album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, is lauded as one of the greatest albums of all time. During this time, hip hop artists like RUN DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, and the Beastie Boys broke through the charts and into mainstream pop culture.

I'm not a fan of all  music, and there are genres I don't like or listen to at all such as country and jazz. However, when I listen to country or jazz, I can at least understand why people like it and respect that they do. It doesn't seem to be as enjoyable of a musical experience as other genres. Oftentimes the lyrics are just downright inappropriate and unpleasant to listen to.
