When considering a slide on camper, you quickly realise the more electronically controlled mechanisms there are, the more risk of something going wrong in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps one of the most important steps in choosing a slide on camper is identiifying value for money. This slide on camper is designed to be mounted on a truck with a minimum 4.2m tray.
The main storage space runs across the front of the slide-on and along each side. It can be accessed from the exterior of the slide-on through two large doors at the front corners of the unit whether the roof is up or down. With the roof raised, there is another smaller side door at the back of the unit on the driver’s side and a large door at the back of the unit on the passenger’s side.
These self-illuminating GlowSteps glow in the dark for up to 10 hours with just a few minutes of light exposure. No need to depend on battery power to light your entry steps. Most slide-on campers provide standard comforts such as a double bed, shower/toilet, 12/240V, earth leakage & circuit breaker, gas bottle, kitchen with 3-way refrigerator, lounge/dinette, stovetop cooker, and sink. They own campers that are technologically more advanced than many other RVs in Australia, which makes them somewhat elite. Yes, and it has caused a huge problem for the industry here. With regards to payload, there were, and probably still are, dealers selling people 1,400-kilogram (3,000-pound) campers and putting them on their trucks which had an 800-kilogram (1,750-pound) payload.
However we often recommend a GVM upgrade to your vehicle - please talk to us about options if you are uncertain about your payload. The D250S DUAL charger obtains its energy from DC sources such as alternators, solar panels or wind power and optimises this power to meet the charging requirements of different battery banks. The D250S DUAL automatically selects the best connected DC energy source for the purpose and switches between these energy sources to achieve high efficiency multi-stage charging. The D250S DUAL is particularly suitable for charging vehicles that do not have access to grid power supplies. Charging automatically starts as soon as DC energy is provided to the charger, for example, from alternators when a vehicle is started or from solar panels when connected. The D250S DUAL ensures that your batteries are always in good condition, quick charging and have long battery lifetimes.

Over the past 15 years we have spent a lot of time researching the various options in the RV industry for travelling around Australia. Truck Campers were initially last on the list to but ended up on top and by a long margin (see - “Why Buy a Truck Camper”). Don’t get caught out in the middle of nowhere with a broken camper and no warranty. Look for 5-10 year warranty that covers you off road, and will post items to you wherever you are. Trayon Campers are still the lightest Class 2 slide on camper by nearly 300kg compared to its closest rival and that is a record held since 1994 when the first Trayon Camper was born. Similarly, if all the weight is on one side of the slide on camper, it will put an unnecessary load on the shock absorber, wheel and axle.
