It is important to not mow the grass too short, as this can damage the roots. The lawn should be watered regularly and fertilized as needed to maintain a lush, healthy lawn. You should pull any weeds and remove debris to give your grass a fresh start.
This is always fully open when spraying but can be closed to disconnect the discharge hose. The discharge hose is connected with a quick coupler. Should you need to go someplace to get water the hose can quickly be disconnected so when you have a new load mixed up you can connect the hose and start spraying right where you left off. It eliminates the need to wrap up the hose before you are finished. Prices quoted are for a complete machine ready to operate. Material costs are slightly reduced, and labor costs are greatly reduced.

A soil test will determine the pH level of the soil and whether it needs to be adjusted with lime or sulfur. It will also determine if there are any nutrient deficiencies that need to be addressed with soil amendments or compost. It is important to use topsoil that is free of weeds and debris to ensure optimal growth.

The spray distance with the straight nozzle is approximately 40′. This unit used a 2″ x 2″ centrifugal pump with an output of –160 gallons a minute of flow and 37 P.S.I. of pressure. This pump has provided excellent performance and durability and it is easy to service and maintain.
Additionally, before starting to spray, you’ll likely need to turn down the agitator speed. Most hydroseed agitators have speeds for mixing slurry and transporting it to the job site to ensure the mixture is consistent. When you’re actively spraying, however, this setting will typically be too high. You should be able to see the slurry mixing, but it shouldn’t be sloshing or spraying out of the tank. It’s always best to follow the instructions in the manual for spraying. Once ready, cover the ground evenly with the slurry.

Slicky Sticky ® also increases moisture retention and enhances seed germination. These hard-working machines can be used to mix and apply dust control palliative, all types of hydraulic mulches , BFM , ADC , and all types of seeds, fertilizers and lime. The mixing system is engineered to quickly blend the thickest materials used in the industry with two variable speed and reversible hydraulically-driven agitators within the tank. Like all Apex Hydroseeders, the stainless steel tank provides years of corrosion-resistance.
I scored a bigger job thats going to be about 4 tanks at one location so for that one I came down to about $300 per tank. If your pump looks like this and you have a 300 or 500 gallon unit you have an HS-300-EH or an HS-500-EH. Please refer to the parts list for the HS-300-EH & HS-500-EH. If your pump looks like this and you have a 50 or 100 gallon unit it is an SHE-50-X pump. This pump coupled to a Robin Subaru engine uses a different seal & impeller.
Instead of running roads around or over hills, these new road systems went through them, resulting in excessively steep hillsides, which were next to impossible to seed with conventional methods. The hydroseeder was a response to this new need, spreading seed quickly and efficiently along highways while simultaneously helping prevent erosion. To help, we’ve put together this detailed outline of the hydroseeding process, its components and what to look for in hydroseeding equipment. From the moment we receive a request to the time you see the green emerge from the soil, Top Choice Hydroseeding works to make your lawn come to life as efficiently as possible. We realize your time is valuable and so we provide same day quotes and we get your job on the books right away. Designed with time-tested features, the T330 HydroSeeder offers value, reliability and productivity to meet the needs of large-scale applications.

Keep removable parts, like the drain plug, in a container and store with the hydroseeder so everything will be easy to find in the spring. After coating, remove the drain plug from the pump and let the excess liquid drain out. This process will prevent rusting, and ensure that your slurry pump is ready to operate again next spring. The slurry pump can be kept in peak condition by adding a coating hydroseeding hose of mineral oil to all of the exposed steel surfaces that contact water during normal operation. To ensure a proper coating of the slurry pump internals, pour up to one quart of mineral oil into the pump housing and spin the pump’s impeller by hand to make sure that all surfaces are coated. Once all the water is thoroughly drained from the hose, reconnect the reel supply line and roll up the hose.
