Let’s face it, society over the years is found celebrating the vapid and shallow, leaving characters like Ari Gold as a type of persona young men strive to become. Chances are you’ve heard of Entourage and the infamous ‘Ari Gold’ - the over-reactive, equal opportunity offender, Hollywood shark that we all came to know and love. A character who undoubtedly rose to the top for being crass, unorthodox, and surprisingly committed to his wife.
He creates software for regular folks to upload and investigate criminal cases and evidence. He wants to revolutionize crime-solving and will do everything he can to avenge his daughter. Piven's role in this TV series is moving and genuine. It is great to see him branch out of his typical comedic roles to take on a more serious character.
Then, in January 2018, BuzzFeed News published another story featuring stories from three more women who shared alleged incidents of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior by Piven. Piven vehemently denied all of the allegations made against him and threatened to pursue legal action. “Let me be absolutely clear, this simply did not happen,” he told BuzzFeed News in a statement through his lawyers at the time. I cannot speak as to why a person would create a story like this.” Representatives for Piven also provided BuzzFeed News with the results of a polygraph test. In March, Entourage creator Doug Ellin, who’s long pushed for the series to return, told OutKick that a potential reboot wouldn’t differ all that much from the first go-round. But, since the show premiered nearly 20 years ago , the characters would certainly have some changes. Elisabeth Moss and Raul Esparza will continue in their roles.
